Step 1: Eligibility Criteria for Admission
a. Citizenship: Foreign Candidates are only eligible under –
i. Government-reserved seats for foreigners in public medical/dental colleges or units
ii. Quotas in private medical/dental colleges or units.
b. Academic Background:
For Private Medical/Dental Colleges: Minimum total GPA in SSC/ O’ Levels and HSC/‘A’ Levels or equivalent exams: GPA: 7.00.
GPA in Biology: 3.5
*** Equivalence for Foreign Curricular Candidates with O/A Level or equivalent qualifications must have their transcripts equalized by the Directorate General of Health students’ certificates, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will investigate appropriately.
Step 2: Application
- Foreign applicants must apply through the online platform designated by the Directorate of Health Education after the government’s admission notice is issued.
- Applicants must upload:
- Attested copies of their SSC/’O’ Level and HSC/’A’ Level (or equivalent) certificates and transcripts, certified by their country’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Proof of payment for the equivalency fee via Telegraphic Transfer (TT) or SWIFT message.
Evaluation and Selection of foreign students
- Applications will be reviewed by the Directorate of Health Education, and the equivalency results will be published on their website.
- The Directorate will send the list of eligible applicants and documents to the respective institutions.
- A copy of the list will also be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Health Education and Family Welfare Division for reference.
- For visa issuance, Bangladeshi embassies/high commissions abroad will verify the applicant’s uploaded academic documents, financial solvency certificates, and citizenship proof.
10.5 Online Application Requirement
- Only applicants who complete the online application process will be deemed eligible for admission.
- Applicants contacting institutions outside the prescribed process will be considered ineligible.
Grade Equivalence for Foreign Applicants
Ranking Criteria for Foreign Applicants
- Grade points will be the primary factor for ranking foreign applicants.
- If grade points are tied, scores in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics will be considered.
- If marks are still tied, older candidates will be given preference.
11.4 Oversight of Equivalence Process
- An approved committee under the Health Education and Family Welfare Division will oversee the equivalency process.
- The decisions made by this committee will be final. If complaints arise regarding foreign students’ certificates, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will investigate appropriately.
A maximum of 45% of the total seats in private dental colleges/units will be reserved for foreign applicants.
